Today, Knopf releases the e-book for Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking, an event that was predicated with much debate rooted in the question: If she were alive today, would Julia Child be a purist or a techie? On a practical level, skeptics also believe it’s just too tough to get dirty in the kitchen with an iPad around — which is why the healthy cookbook industry remains largely in print. Ultimately, the highly anticipated e-book is said to be so well done that it makes the cooking even easier, more resourceful. Just keep the wine glass on the other counter. [NYT]
