Onetime Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel has always touted her surprisingly popular Skinnygirl Margaritas as being full of natural ingredients. But now Whole Foods has their doubts about how "natural" all the ingredients really are. And since the bottle doesn’t exactly come right out and say what’s in the stuff, the grocery chain has decided to pull Skinnygirl products off their shelves.
An anonymous employee told the Huffington Post, "The store prides itself in selling the best quality whole products that our high-end consumers expect. Not novelty products that are shaded with secrecy." Frankel’s PR team hasn’t responded with any comments, but then Frankel actually sold the brand to Beam Global Spirits and Wine this past spring for a reported $120 million, so she probably doesn’t give a crap who sells the stuff now.
Update: Bethenny tells Access Hollywood she hasn’t lost "even a wink of sleep" over the Whole Foods thing, implying that it was Skinnygirl’s choice to break up, not the other way around. "With all due respect to Whole Foods, we were in a dozen of their stores and have decided not to continue in these stores. They represent an infinitesimal fraction of our business." [Access Hollywood]
