Everything is a bit more red, pink, and gold.

The lounge and nightclub known for the past decade and a half as Harry Denton’s Starlight Room, atop the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, reopens tonight after a six-week remodel. With the revamp comes a new food menu from Scala’s chef Jen Biesty, as well as a brand new, artisanal cocktail program — the first of its kind for this hotel bar — from former Zero Zero bar manager Joel Teitelbaum. The new design is more shimmery and gold, with a lot of pink accents, and the dance floor that overlooks all of Union Square and SoMa has been completely resurfaced with a starburst pattern and tiny, embedded lights that twinkle underfoot.

The popular Sunday’s a Drag brunch, hosted by drag queen socialite Donna Sachet, already moved back into the space this past weekend, and the official reopening is tonight at 6 p.m.

We’ll update you with food and drink menus as soon as we have them. But for now, take a gander at our slideshow of the refreshed interior. And be glad that there are now five decent cocktail bars in the immediate vicinity of Union Square — Clock Bar, Cantina, Burritt Room, and Jasper’s Corner Tap being the other four.
