Just in time for the brisk backlash, Taiwanese-style shaved ice appears to be emerging in West Hollywood. SnoBar, originally scheduled for an opening this past summer, will instead spring its doors open on Santa Monica Blvd. this fall, just in time for the seasonal chill-out. The space and a rose-flavored ice already look attractive, as per Facebook photos, while early Yelp reviews (encouraged by the owners after past pop-ups) are all glowing. At least SnoBar, located miles from the SGV and bearing the magnetic word “bar” in its name, should be able to hit WeHo without the same prejudice that greeted shaved ice slingers like Green Island and Nubi.
