Maybe you recall that incident last fall where a pair of Staten Islanders assaulted a patron at historic gay watering hole the Stonewall Inn, hurling gay slurs at him and beating him up pretty badly. Well, although both attackers initially faced sentences of up to eight years, they accepted a plea deal last week that got two years’ jail time for one man and just six months for the other. Naturally, patrons of the Stonewall Inn interviewed by DNA Info are not pleased by this. “The one kid who got six months is going to be like, ‘Oh, I only got six months,’ and maybe do it again. And, who knows, kill someone next time?” speculated one bargoer. [DNA Info, Earlier]
