What were we just saying about the preponderance of steakhouses in Chicago? We were just told that III Forks, a chain with locations in Texas and Florida, is preparing to open a brand new outlet in Lakeshore East’s new Village Market in “early October.” The steakhouse will feature only USDA grade prime cuts, along with fresh seafood — you know, all the normal steakhouse things. What the restaurant does have on its side is a pretty interesting location and a whole lot of space.

To be blunt, it is absolutely huge. III Forks has 13,000 square feet of dining space, which will seat approximately 200 people in the main dining room. An additional 200 seats are split up between the first floor bar, second floor dining room, and the rooftop deck. The restaurant will face Lakeshore East Park, and we imagine that the views will be amazing.

The menu isn’t officially out yet, but we’ll let you know when we get our hands on it. As Chicago Magazine reported in July, Tommy Nevill will be the executive chef, and he’s planning for all of the steaks to be wet-aged.
