Another day, another list. This time OpenTable, the online reservation website, asked its subscribers for the best restaurants “Fit For Foodies.” Though it seems like a slightly ambiguous organizing principle, the results were picked from over 10 million restaurant reviews, which is more than most lists can say. The results skew toward the mid-range — fine dining is all but left behind — and, needless to say, Chicago does very, very well. According to this list, six of the 50 restaurants come from the Windy City. That is better than New York (5 picks) and second only to San Francisco (9 picks). So, which restaurants made the cut?

It’s very good to be Paul Kahan right now, as both Blackbird and The Publican made the list. It’s no huge surprise that Stephanie Izard’s Girl & The Goat pops up, as does Graham Elliot. Bonsoirée, which picked up a Michelin star last year, also makes an appearance. But we are mostly excited to see that Dale Levitski’s Sprout gets a shout out. Way to go!
