Long awaited American Sardine Bar, South Philadelphia Taproom owner John Longacre’s repeatedly sidelined Point Breeze expansion, went live yesterday with a webpage, as well as Facebook and Twitter feeds. The webpage heralds an October 2011 opening, but amongst such things as talk of Pittsburgh cheesesteaks and that all the bar’s employees will have sandwich tattoos, there’s chatter on Twitter that November is more likely. No matter what, the launch of the bar’s web presence signals that an opening is imminent. Also in waiting game news, Top Chef champ Kevin Sbraga announced via Twitter that his eponymous restaurant will begin accepting reservations… just as soon as the phone is connected.

And finally, the Insider reports that Interstate Draft House, the Fishtown bar that was formerly the home of Moe’s Tavern, which had the unfortunate distinction of being the bar favored by the three men who were accused of beating to death a Phillies fan outside Citizen’s Bank Park last summer, opens tonight. Its owners are Azure alums Bob and Brandon Bitros. It will feature 16 taps and Sabrett hot dogs.
