The city’s latest bakery and cafe, Toni Patisserie and Cafe, will open on Monday, August 29, in the Loop. West suburban residents may recognize the name, as chef Toni Marie Cox has been running a bakery in Hinsdale since 1994. This downtown location is her first outlet in the city and will be open from daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., serving breakfast, lunch, and a “light dinner.” The 30-seat cafe is “French-inspired,” which obviously means that you can score a quiche Lorraine and a salade niçoise. Still, we’re most excited about the pork rillette baguette sandwich.

Considering that it is a patisserie, expect a collection of freshly baked pastries, including tarts, éclairs, and seasonal fruit galettes. There will also be a Metropolis coffee bar. Like the Hinsdale location, customized cakes can be ordered in advance. Catering should be up and running by the winter.

Check out an abbreviated menu below.
