In other Danny Meyer news, on September 3, Union Square Cafe will introduce a “greenmarket-inspired” weekend brunch menu, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m on Saturdays and Sundays. This is the first time weekend brunch has been an option there in its 25 years, even though it basically only means that the restaurant opens an hour earlier than usual (for weekend lunch) and will be producing even more bathtubs of mimosas. Chef Carmen Quagliata sent over his weekly changing seasonal menu, which exists alongside the restaurant’s old-school lunch favorites like the USC burger — so there’s something for every high-end hangover.
