Remember the runner who trained for the L.A. Marathon by eating nothing but McDonald’s for 30 days? You know, the one who finished 28th overall, running it in a frankly impressive 2:36:14? Well, Joe D’Amico is gearing up to compete in the Chicago Marathon in October, but don’t expect him to be quite as intense. Though he plans on eating often at the Golden Arches, he’s also supplementing his pre-race diet with pasta, fruits, and — most shocking of all — even some vegetables. This sounds downright reasonable! Of course, he could just stick to Happy Meals, as they’ll have some mandatory fruits or vegetables in about a month. [Sun Times]
