'Tis the time of year when anybody who can swing it hightails it out of town, and restaurants take advantage of the slow season to recharge or give staff time off. That also means anyone still in the city might find a nasty surprise when they head to dinner: Their favorite place might be taking a week or two off. Grub Street's reservations for an airlift to Newport fell through recently, so we're stuck in the city; if you are, too, here's where not to dine for the next month or so while some of New York's finer restaurants — Le Bernardin, Per Se, Annisa — snag some much-needed R&R.
