Mollie Stone’s to Start Doing Wine Tastings; Mission Bowling Club Still On; and More

Castro: The new Mollie Stone’s market that replaced the DeLano’s (4201 18th Street) just got themselves an “instructional tasting” license from the ABC. Look for them to start advertising wine tasting events for the already boozy neighborhood in the near future. [Grub Street]
Mission: You’ll recall that Mission Bowling Club project (3176 17th Street at South Van Ness) that much of the Mission is very excited about? Well, despite a lingering unknown with the Building Department, the team of Sommer Peterson and Molly Bradshaw (Mini Bar) along with Mission Street Food guru Anthony Myint, are pressing forward and aiming for February. [Eater]
Hayes Valley: Rice Paper Scissors, the Vietnamese pop-up, is doing a Sunday brunch thing this holiday weekend next to Blue Bottle (315 Linden Street). [SFoodie, Scoop]

Oakland: John Birdsall takes an early crack at Local Café, which just opened on Piedmont Avenue. And he likes it. [What the Fork/EBX]
Menlo Park: Seven-year-old Japanese restaurant Kaygetsu is closing in six weeks or so. [Scoop]
