Lucio Palazzo is stepping down as the top toque at Xochitl. He announced his decision via Twitter. He didn’t give much in the way of an explanation for his departure, only that he would stay on through the end of Restaurant Week. He also thanked former bosses Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook, and wished new Xochitl owners Peter Leontaras and Demetri Pappas good luck with their endeavors. Palazzo, who stepped up to the chef position after Xochitl’s opening chef, Dionicio Jimenez, left to head up Stephen Starr’s El Rey last year, was the creator of one of Grub Street’s favorite pork dishes. Where he’s going next remains unseen. Meal Ticket has a few details on what’s on the chef’s immediate horizon. [Twitter; Meal Ticket]
