Los Angeles magazine drops another great food issue for September. Shortly before convincing us that Mitrice was murdered, the mag explores 20 great local breakfast options, tells us where to start the day with a Guatemalan chapin, and gives a little more attention to the plates at Nate ‘n Al than its food might warrant. While we miss Primo’s in the doughnut round-up, editor Lesley Bargar Suter does shatter one common misconception: That cops loves doughnuts!

According to Suter, she asked five different boys in blue for their doughnut recommendations, but received not a single one. As she writes in the issue’s intro, “Apparently, I found the only five cops in the world who don’t eat doughnuts,” insisting they prefer bagels. Of course, if you do require the assistance of an officer, you can always find one at Baby Blues BBQ in Venice and every 7-11 ever. [LAMag]
