Fare Thee Well: Brian Murphy Already Out at Monument Lane

What does this mean for the Colonial tavern's meatloaf? Photo: Danny Kim/New York Magazine

Though Colonial-era tavern Monument Lane only opened last April, it appears chef Brian Murphy has resigned. Sam Sifton has the news on Twitter, and Eater has a note from the chef. It reads, in part, that Murphy resigned "due to irreconcilable operational and creative differences." No word yet on who will take over the kitchen, or what this means for the restaurant’s menu.
