Baconfest Chicago made a huge jump this year, moving from the stately, if small, Stan Mansion to the epic UIC Forum. But that’s not the last expansion for the pork-centric festival, as the organizers hope to “grow the legions of Bacon-Nation beyond city and state boundaries and to turn the dream of Baconfest U.S.A.” Nothing is definite right now, but first up appears to be Washington, D.C., with San Francisco to follow. Eventually, they are looking forward to point when they can spread “the gospel of Baconfest” all across the nation. Such a noble goal. Oh, and don’t worry about the crew ditching our town: “Rest assured Chicagoans, Baconfest Chicago 2012 will reach new heights in bacon-bacchanalia.” [Baconfest Chicago]
