American Sardine Bar, the long overdue Point Breeze restaurant and bar from South Philadelphia Tap Room owner John Longacre, will open soon. Yeah, we know; we’ve said this before and its beginning to feel a little bit like “the blogger who cried bar!” But this time it’s, like, really serious! The upstairs kitchen, which was in zoning limbo and held the project back for some time, was finally green-lighted, and the hoods have been installed. Now all that’s left is getting L&I; and the Health Department to sign off on it. “Wherever there was a hang up in this project, we got hung up on it,” Tap Room/Sardine Bar chef Scott Schroeder told Grub Street. “We’re going to open soon. I swear.”
