49 Social Does Jazz, R&B on the Weekends

49 Social’s manager Samir Zaiter told us back in May that his restaurant would never be the type of place where one might “get trashed and start dancing.” But dance we must, now that the restaurant has introduced live music on weekends. No cheese-ball DJ’s here, though; they’re bringing in noted local music director Ron Murphy to oversee a line-up of jazz and R&B.; The music starts on Fridays and Saturdays beginning at 9:30 p.m. Plus, there’s a late-night menu. Smooth!

On the menu ‘til 12:30 a.m.:
Tuna Sashimi (radish salad, soy pearls, garlic chili vinaigrette)

Fried Oyster Po’ Boy Slider (Old Bay aioli, celery root slaw, Bibb lettuce, tomato)

Pommes Frites Trio (rosemary garlic, truffle parmesan fine herb, pink peppercorn & sea salt)

House Burger (sharp cheddar, crispy leeks, Bibb lettuce, tomato, truffle aioli, rosemary garlic pommes frites)

Pear & Prosciutto Flatbread (pears, prosciutto, gorgonzola cheese, baby arugula, balsamic glaze)

Carbonara (pancetta, cracked black pepper, fried egg) or White Clam (Wellfleet clams, garlic, parsley, shaved fennel)

Should be a pleasant alternative to Downtown Crossing’s assortment of pulsating lounges, don’t you think?
