The yummy brandade.

As of last week, Prospect, the Boulevard team’s foray into more modern cuisine, is one year old, and the place is as bustling and packed as ever most nights. You may have heard that they’re also sporting a new menu, only available up front in the bar/lounge, featuring some tasty treats like salt-cod brandade and a most excellent, semi-secret burger with bacon in it and kimchi on top. Well, today, Grub Street brings you a few visuals. And please be aware, the housemade beer nuts are highly addictive, and the black-garbanzo hummus is damn good. (Also, everything is under $10, providing an easy-on-the-wallet alternative to the more expense-account-friendly main dining room.)

Prospect - 300 Spear Street, at Folsom, in the base of the Infinity - 415.247.7770 - Bar open Monday through Friday at 4 p.m., restaurant at 5:30 p.m. daily. The bar menu is served beginning at 5:30 p.m. Also open for brunch on Sundays, 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The hummus is pretty awesome, as are the pita chips it comes with. And the brandade is creamy, warm, and everything you want it to be, with a nice acidic note from the green-olive salsa verde on top.
They’ve got sriracha (“rooster sauce”) in them. Need we say more?
This crisp and filling tarte features bacon, gruyere, and caramelized onions.
served with a light Caesar dressing and breakfast radishes.
These thick-cut fries are served with a smoked-paprika spiced aioli.
with blue cheese dipping sauce.
served with gypsy peppers and anchovy crostini.
with spiced honey and eggplant.
with chorizo, spring onions, and garlic toast.
served with Calabrian chiles, butter beans, and olives.
Chef Ravi Kapur’s off-menu burger creation features a bacon-studded patty topped with kimchi, Jack cheese, and pickles. It’s pretty damn good.
