Just a little more than a year after opening on Main Street Santa Monica, Spice Station has closed its doors, survived by its store in Silver Lake and an emerging business in Montreal. The shutter is only temporary, however, so that Spice Station can relocate to Santa Monica Place.

The spice-slinger will take a space in the unfortunately rather lackluster new component called The Market, making it a little more accessible to the tourist contingent than to this city’s residents, but bulking up the selection of local vendors found in this corner of the mall’s Dining Deck. Keep abreast of the situation on Facebook and Twitter while we keep on eye on the now-for-lease Main Street space and any potential conflict with Penzey’s on nearby Fourth Street.
