This didn’t take very long, but Pastaterra — which replaced Terragusto back in May — has closed. Luckily, Time Out reports that the owners already have a new concept in mind, along with a surprising new chef. Matt Maroni, who has spent the past year advancing the food truck scene in Chicago thanks to the Gaztro-Wagon, will be taking over the space. Called Morso, which means “nibble” in Italian, it will serve a collection of Mediterranean small plates.

Don’t worry about the Gaztro-Wagon; Maroni has confirmed that the truck will stay in business. According to the Tribune, he had actually wanted to open a concept like Morso before the food truck, but decided against it due to the slumping economy. It seems to have been a blessing in disguise, as Maroni admitted, “There’s no question that if I didn’t do the Gaztro-Wagon, I wouldn’t be doing this right now.” Look for the restaurant to open in early August.
