Look, we love many of Mario Batali’s restaurants — there was a time not so long ago that we stopped by Casa Mono on, like, a weekly basis. But it’s no secret that Molto Mario’s true gift isn’t his ability to cook a pizza or manage a kitchen staff; it’s self-promotion. We feed the machine as much as anyone, but now Batals is writing about his summer getaway in Northern Michigan. We’ll grant him that it does sound lovely, but shouldn’t the point of having a summer getaway be to, you know, get away? We give it two years before he opens a restaurant there. [Bon Appétit]
