Sniffable Asparagus Powder: the New Gateway Drug?

Oh, sure, it looks innocent.
Oh, sure, it looks innocent.

Well this sounds fun: A company in Britain has come out with a sniffable asparagus powder, writes the Daily Mail. That’s right, Bubble Foods takes the veggie and reduces it to powder form, then serves it on a mirrored tray next to a rolled hundred-dollar bill (British pounds don’t work for this?), with a sticker imploring “Sniff me … “

Frankly, we’re surprised no one has done this sooner, but perhaps here’s why: The gambit has pissed off a number of anti-drug activists, one of whom fumed to the paper, “It does risk bringing more and more people into contact with drugs, a world where there’s nothing but misery waiting for them.” Okay, maybe if you’re a recovered coke addict, sniffing anything isn’t such a hot idea, but for the rest of the world this actually sounds pretty interesting. We’d be really impressed if someone could figure out a way to make the drip taste like Hollandaise sauce.
