First Look at Deck 33’s Space and Menu, Now Open at The Custom Hotel

Officially launching on August 1st, Deck 33 is currently soft-open at The Custom Hotel. Now under the control of operators Joie de Vivre, The Custom put Cafe del Rey chef Katsuo Nagasawa in charge of F&B; and the first glance at his menu looks like it could really, finally tempt diners to Westchester. With the Pacific Rim as his core inspiration, chef “Naga” put together a fun selection of unique, seafood-centric dishes with touches that stretch from Cuba to Vietnam to Mexico to Japan to Italy, with fresh Californian ingredients ever-forward. What’s being served?

There’s a shellfish cigar with yuzu pepper, green curry, and mango salsa; Vietnamese summer rolls with spicy tuna and Thai mint; calamari fritti with Okinawa potato, penne with Kobe, and pizzette with grilled fennel and spicy Kurobuta; and salmon crusted with furikake, paired with a kiwa kumquat chutney. If it’s all as good as it looks on paper, The Custom might have something truly outstanding at its hotel restaurant.
