Following a damaging fire nearly a year ago, Axe remained closed on Abbot-Kinney, hammered by questions as to whether it would ever come back to life. Eater said no, Squid Ink said yes. Nobody at Axe seemed in a rush to clear up the rumors, and followup gossip that owner Joanna Moore might sell the restaurant after its re-construction didn’t help paint a clearer picture. Today Yo! Venice! reports that Axe is now open again and a trip to its website confirms that the business sprung back to life on Wednesday. The restaurant is now serving five days a week, staying closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. No word on what the future holds just yet, but there are sure to be a lot of Venice fans excited to see Axe return following its 12-month disappearance.
