The Restaurant Collection on the fourth floor of the Westfield Centre just unveiled its latest addition today: Cupola, the Neapolitan pizza concern from Lark Creek Restaurant Group. We’ve been talking up this opening for months, and this marks the second-to-last of the known and planned pizza places that have been on the docket over the last year and half — the last being Farina’s Antica Pizzeria at 18th and Valencia, which last we heard might see the light of day in “three months.” Cupola’s got a fancy Stefano Ferrara wood-burning oven straight from Naples, just like the one Anthony Mangieri uses at Una Pizza Napoletana to make his perfect pies. And they’ve got a former Bar Bambino chef, Christian Hermsdorf, overseeing the day-to-day. Here’s the menu again, and click through for a slideshow of the slick space, which was designed by Cass Calder Smith. Note that they’re only open for lunch for the first few weeks as they work out the kinks.

Cupola - Westfield Centre, 845 Market Street, 4th Floor - 415.896.5600 - Open currently for lunch only, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner service starting soon.

Architect Cass Calder Smith stuck with a slick, modern, black-white-and-red theme.
This red lacquer “step-up” table faces the entrance off the mall, and we think random tourists are going to want to sit here with their backpacks.
It’s beer and wine only, though you can always pop next door for a cocktail at Lark Creek Steak.
These encased peppers also greet you at the door.
