Aside from the duo of dreadlocked dudes seated at the bar, upon entry it seemed like any other night at the South Philadelphia Tap Room. But once the past the bar, the lava lamps, blacklight posters and tapestries emblazoned with pot leaves that were hung from the ceiling served as a quick reminder that it was 420 Night, a Beer Week celebration with California’s Lagunitas Brewing Company. Servers sported Bob Marley t-shirts and tie dyes. If they were stoned, they hid it well. Chef Scott Schroeder served a menu of special stoner munchies, that included things like his Scott Dogs, Mexican-ized (naturally), nacho cheese fries and buffalo cheese curd. But the real piece de resistance was the chicken-fried cheesesteak that the chef created to gain entry into Questlove’s Cookoff.
