Last week we learned that the Foodery peeps were teaming up with the Corner for a new joint venture in Center City. Now comes word that in addition to the collaboration at 17th and Sansom, the team behind the craft beer temples is inching closer to putting one of its shops in every neighborhood. PlanPhilly’s Amy Z. Quinn reports that the Foodery owners this week will go before the Central Roxborough Civic Association to a gain approval for their plans to open a location in what’s now the Roxborough Development Corporation’s HQ at 6148 Ridge Ave. While the RDC is all gung-ho about it, saying it will help the neighborhood become more attractive to all those fancy craft beer-guzzling snootypants and young professionals who are settling down there to raise families, the local civic association could possibly have a different opinion. Back in 2009, the Foodery had similar plans for Main Street Manayunk, but objections from neighbors ultimately put the kibosh on them. [Newsworks via PlanPhilly]
