Mamma Pig’s BBQ Roadhouse Replaces Michelin-Starred Mirepoix Sunday in Windsor

In a major switcheroo up in wine country, Michelin-starred Mirepoix in Windsor is reopening Sunday, July 3 as a casual barbecue joint called Mamma Pig’s. Owners Matthew and Bryan Bousquet, who also own the nearby (and still French) Bistro M, closed Mirepoix and announced their plans back in April, saying that having achieved the Michelin star they both decided to scale things back and focus on raising a family. BiteClub Eats notes that the couple started doing barbecue years ago at the Windsor market, and this is just a return to form. They’re promising BBQ tri-tip, beef brisket, ribs, pulled pork and chicken, and great burgers at the opening, as well as free “pig-on-a-stick” treats to anyone who hits the Like button over here on Facebook. Also, they’ve got a dessert called The Trough, and that scares us a little. [Grub Street, BiteClub]
