We’ve caught some loose talk that Toscana chef Hugo Vasquez is looking to open a casual Santa Monica eatery, possibly in concert with Toscana, not far from The Equinox at 2nd Street and Santa Monica Blvd. The new space, hot on the heels of Bar Toscana’s opening, would sell small Italian dishes and bowls with an emphasis on being a fast casual place with take-out friendly service.
