Nope, Doc’s Won’t Dock at Long Wharf After All

A few weeks ago we contemplated the fate of Doc’s Long Wharf, resisted by the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association because it would eliminate “prime public space” and impede waterfront views along the Wharf, which is currently home to plenty of vendor stands and the behemoth Chart House restaurant. The Herald now reports that a Suffolk Superior Court judge has sided with the group and blocked the restaurant’s development — undercutting the Boston Redevelopment Authority’s power to award such bids. The Herald reports that Richard McGuinness of the BRA had argued that restaurants help activate the waterfront. What do they think this is, Fan Pier? [Herald]
