It’s not the 14-hour epic bender we joked about in February, but extended happy hours — as long as four hours! — are significantly closer to becoming a reality in Pennsylvania. The measure, which the House gave final approval on yesterday, according to KYW Newsradio, is headed to Governor Tom Corbett’s desk. He’s expected to sign off on it, and give bar and restaurant owners more flexibility for when and how long they can offer customers discounted drinks. Under current rules, they can offer cheap drinks for just two hours a day, and no more than 14 hours per week. The new legislation will hold up the 14 hours per week mandate, but allow businesses to offer as many happy hours a day as they want, provided none exceed four hour increments. [KYW Newsradio]
