A Mexican Cafe Grows in Little Osaka

A new Mexican restaurant is under construction on the north side of Sawtelle, which has become noticeably less Japanese since the flight of Sasabune several years ago. The new joint is creatively named Nina’s Mexican Food (not to be confused with that Ninfa’s in Houston we keep hearing about) and plans to open in the next couple of months. Signage is already flying, but there’s no word yet on whether this newbie will bolster the Oaxacan corridor with more mole or form a concept more along the varied lines of new Rojas Eatery. Either way, it’s a safe bet they won’t serve okonomiyaki. [Earlier: GS]
