Down The Shore

Will the Real Diving Horse Please Stand Up?

There’s a little bit of confusion awaiting hungry beachgoers at the shore this summer. Just as the Pub & Kitchen crew opened their BYOB Diving Horse for another season in Avalon, a similarly named, but certainly much different in style spot is coming to Atlantic City. It’s called Diving Horse Cabaret & Steakhouse, a sprawling, 55,000 square foot tatas and chops joint on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, and according to Thrillist, it’s opening this weekend. Unlike Avalon’s Diving Horse, which offers dishes comprised of locally sourced seafood and farm fresh ingredients in a casual atmosphere, Atlantic City’s Diving Horse features a nudie bar cabaret, steakhouse, luxx lounge and couples retreat inn, in what could be mistaken for a Boardwalk Empire set. “To be honest, I don’t really care,” Diving Horse’s Ed Hackett told Grub Street. “We’re a BYOB in Avalon and they’re a strip bar steakhouse in Atlantic City. What we’re doing is completely different.” [Thrillist]
