Northdown Cafe and Taproom opens tonight in Lakeview. We first heard about the project back in March, and were immediately intrigued due to the involvement of Tom Lee, who is also a partner in Bucktown’s beer mecca, The Map Room. At the very least, there would be a great beer list, right? Of course, it’s also a cafe, and that’s where Adam Lucks and his sister Valeri come in. They’ve crafted a menu that seems to be a perfect compliment to all that booze. There are a few “house staples,” including mac and cheese, chicken and biscuit pie, and a vegan cassoulet. But the majority of the menu is made up of sandwiches. Check them all out, especially the Old Rasputin Stout braised short rib sandwich, below. [Urban Daddy]
