As you could probably tell yesterday, we’re not the biggest fans of Cinco de Mayo. The holiday, which celebrates a Mexican victory over the French, isn’t celebrated much in Mexico outside of Puebla, and has mostly been turned into an excuse here to drink loads of bad margaritas. But we do love Mexican food, and are always interested to see where Chicago’s dynamic Mexican restaurant scene takes us next. It looks like Cantina 46 is still set to open on May 12 in the Gold Coast. We reported a few weeks ago about the setup, and the inspiration behind chef Servando Camargo’s menu. Luckily, we just got our hands on full copy of that menu, which you can check out below.

The menu is divided between appetizers, dips, salads, and entrees. There is a great range in the first category. As previously mentioned, there is a red snapper ceviche, but you’ll also be able to score fresh corn tamals, queso fundido, and even short rib nachos. Dips include guacamole, and a housemade queso dip. There are only two salads, one of those is the house salad with cilantro vinaigrette. Entrees include baked chicken chilaquiles, cedar plank halibut, and an oven roasted chile rellano.

There is also a collection of margaritas, and other cocktails. But check it all out for yourself by taking a look at the full menu.
