Remember back in September when we told you that Philly was getting its own Vendy Awards, New York’s veritable Oscars for the mobile munch set? It was after Honest Tom’s and couple other local truckers convoyed up to Governor’s Island as special guests of the annual street vendor cookoff. Well, it’s happening. But not until July 9. And its taking place at the Piazza. Proceeds from the festival and competition will benefit the Food Trust, but on a larger scale it all serves to validate the city’s budding food truck scene.
