It looks like Bart Blatstein has found a new tenant to move into Speck, the property left vacant at the Piazza after Shola Olunloyo’s ouster from the stillborn restaurant. According to Foobooz, the new tenant is Tony Rim, the restaurateur behind Midtown Village’s Raw Sushi & Sake Lounge and The Corner. The word is Rim plans to open something similar to his Sansom Street sushi spot inside the multi-million dollar restaurant. While opening dates, chefs and other vitals have not been made public yet, you can count on the place being the most advanced and well-equipped sushi joint on Earth, as Olunloyo made great efforts to outfit the space with the most advanced, precision cooking gear available.
