We’re not sure which is more exciting: A new hot dog joint called Hot Diggity coming to South Street, or the fact that its arrival might signal a turnaround for the strip of vacant storefronts lining the 600-block of what was once touted as Philly’s hottest street? Either way, it’s welcomed news. Hot Diggity, which Meal Ticket reports is South Jersey native and former Craftbar alum Keith Garabedian’s baby, has its sites set on a June debut. The all-hot dog restaurant will offer a broad selection of regional hot dog specialties, including prized pooches from Chicago, Seattle, Saigon and beyond. Serious Eats wiener scene scribe and illustrator Hawk Krall was commissioned to design the menu. [Meal Ticket]
