Reps have announced that Richard Sandoval of Zengo will be handling the food and beverage at the Yotel New York at Times Square West, the David Rockwell–designed venue set for West 42nd Street and Tenth Avenue. He’ll create menus for four venues spread across 18,000 square feet of space: Dohyo (a restaurant shaped like a sumo ring that converts into a dance club when its hydraulic communal tables are lowered into the ground), Terrace (which claims to be “New York’s largest outdoor hotel space”), Green Lounge (overlooking the terrace), and Club Lounge (a lounge with glass-enclosed “cabins” that are equipped with dining tables, flat-screen TVs, and video-game consoles). Expect a June 1 opening.
