Plaza Sues Oak Room Operators for Making It Look Bad

Guess those disco brunches haven’t worked out so well for the Oak Room — the Post reports that the Plaza’s owners have filed a $33.3 million lawsuit against the tired institution’s latest operators, Jeffrey and Eli Gindi, for failing to revitalize it as a five-star eatery with a 70-plus Zagat rating, and instead sullying it with burlesque shows, as well as “alleged use of illegal drugs, the encouragement of ‘raucous and/or vulgar’ conduct, loud music, a failed city health inspection and poor restaurant reviews.” The real low point, of course, was that $19 Mel Gibson cocktail.
