Since being selected as the shoe-in for the mighty cupcake’s replacement, we’ve heard a lot of talk about pie, but not so much in the way of any actual real pie. We mocked it. Wrote it off. And this week even went so far as to predict that, if anything, doughnuts would be the cupcake’s successor. Now comes word from Supper that chef-owner Mitch Prensky is rolling out, you guessed it, pie as a new weekly dessert special. Each week Prensky and his staff will offer a new and completely different housebaked pie. This week’s is brown sugar and pecan. It’s available for $6 a slice and $8 a la mode. Could this be pie’s long overdue ascension?
