One Third of World’s Food Wasted

A new study shows that one third of the food produced for consumption every year (about 1.3 billion tons) gets lost or wasted. Diners, this is exactly why we don’t want to see a heap of lettuce and tomato on our plate unless we friggin’ ask for it. But keep the pickles coming. [FAO via Green/NYT]
