Mission Beach Café Rehires a Chef; Ritual Opens at Proxy; and More

Mission: Owner Bill Clarke has rehired Thomas Martinez to be executive chef at Mission Beach Café, which means chef Ron Silverberg is moving on. Martinez left MBC in 2009 to pursue farming with Weird Fish/Roshambo Farms guy Timothy Holt, and then served as chef at Weird Fish until they closed in April. We think this also spells further bad news for Weird Fish. [Grub Street]
Also, Luna Park is on the hunt for a new chef, and Ronnie New is out in two weeks. [Tablehopper]
Hayes Valley: The second business to get rolling at Proxy in Hayes Valley is Ritual Roasters, and they’ll be opening this Saturday, May 21. [Tablehopper]
Castro: A new pop-up in town! Easy Creole is popping up at The Residence (718 14th Street) on Tuesday May 25. [Grub Street]

Ferry Building: Oakland’s popular Hodo Soy Beanery launched a kiosk inside the Ferry Building today, serving soy- and yuba-based dishes like Yuba Kung Pao Salad and Forbidden Rice Pudding. [Scoop]
North Beach: Something called Le Bordeaux (524 Union Street), a French restaurant, is opening next to Don Pisto’s. [Eater]
Outer Richmond: Oozora Sake House (5120 Geary at 15th Ave) is now open, serving up yakitori and other skewers, as well as DIY s’mores. [Thrillist]
