Harold Dieterle, Fatty ’Cue, and More Bring Outdoor Grub to BeerParc, Opening May 18

Starting May 18 through the summer and possibly fall, Jeffrey Chodorow is turning the 12,000-square-foot outdoor plaza behind FoodParc into BeerParc, a beer garden with Austrian-German grub from Edi & the Wolf and Seasonal, as well as less Germanic offerings from Ed Brown, Harold Dieterle of Kin Shop, and the ubiquitous Fatty ’Cue. Here’s how it’ll work: You pay $3 per ticket (credit cards accepted). They go toward beers from one of the ten taps (the initial lineup: Magic Hat #9, Radeberger Pilsner, Tucher Helles Hefeweizen, Brooklyn Lager, and Southampton Publick House Double White Ale) and toward food from the stands that’ll dot the plaza (items will cost anywhere from one to three tickets). Then you have a seat in front of a 34-foot screen broadcasting Mets and Yanks games. Not a bad way to spend happy hour in midtown west (BeerParc will be open from 4 p.m. most days; from 2 p.m. on Fridays; and from noon on Saturdays and Sundays). Here’s a look at some of what each stand will be serving.

Edi & the Wolf: Grilled cheddarwurst with sauerkraut and potato salad, and a Bavarian-style pretzel.

Soi 29: Thai-style fried chicken with green papaya salad, and braised
beef with sour orange curry, mustard greens, and jasmine rice.

Fatty Snack: Fatty ‘Cue pork hot dog with pickled slaw, and a beef brisket sandwich with chili aioli, red onion, and cheddar.

Ed’s Raw Bar: Lobster avocado BLT roll, raw littleneck clams, East Coast oysters, shrimp cocktail.
