As you may have heard, Commis chef James Syhabout opened a casual Asian street-food outpost in downtown Oakland last week called Hawker Fare (2300 Webster Street). We’re hearing back from a few trusted folks that the food is phenomenal (and so cheap!), and as of tomorrow, May 26, the restaurant will be open for dinner from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. — their soft-opening run this past week has been lunch and early dinner only. Dinner will be served Thursday through Saturday for now, until further notice. [Grub Street]
