Very sad news out of O.C.: Eric Doran, the 36-year-old Newport resident and co-owner of Costa Mesa’s tiny Eat Chow, was killed in an accident on the 101 in Ventura County on Friday morning. Doran was hit from behind while driving a Model A roadster to a car show with his wife, who also sustained serious injuries. O.C. Weekly, who was scheduled to feature Doran in a feature column this week, has a warm tribute to Doran, along with some of the photos it had planned to run.
