Coolhaus Finds a Culver City Home

Here comes another one! Eater reports that Natasha Case and Freya Estreller are opening a brick-and-mortar location of Coolhaus on Washington Blvd. in Culver City. And since we’re still blown away the ice cream sandwch-makers’ clever name, it seems somehow fitting that the shop is being endowed with an art piece by a group with the not quite as subtle name, “Design Bitches.” In addition to the radical ice cream flavors you’ve probably tried by now, the shop will sling seasonal flavors, soda floats, ice cream cakes, chicory coffee, and Blue Bottle drip coffee. The space, designed by Studio Foster and the owners themselves, will incorporate auto parts and an interactive wall celebrating L.A.’s famous and scattershot architecture. Expect an opening in July. That Flying Pig restaurant’s opening is still anyone’s guess.
