Brentwood: Bru Haus is now soft-open for sausages, homemade sauces, tequila, and beer, with chef Charlie Hwang in the kitchen. [Feast]
-FarmShop is looking for staff for its dinner service and not due to a walk-out in the kitchen. [Squid Ink]
Carson: Home Depot Center has a pretty lonely looking street food cart called Street Fusion. Safe to say you’ll probably see more of these (or something like them) popping up at sports venues who seek to cash in on the street food craze. [Squid Ink]
Downtown: The Baja bros. over at MexiCali Taco & Co. received their Taco Madness 2011 award after winning the vote for “L.A.’s favorite taco.” [L.A. Taco]
-Chimu opened at Grand Central market for Peruvian food. The lomo saltado gets an early thumbs up. [LAT]

Hermosa Beach: Palmilla Cocina is coming to the Pier from the owners of Baja Sharkeez. The focus will be dressed-up Mexican with an emphasis on the state of Sonora. While a chef has not been named, Sixto Pocasangre will handle pastry duty, while the designer of Red O is on interiors. Will she bring this one a tequila tunnel? [Feast]
Monterey Park: Saporous Grill opened in April, replacing Happy Hour with Hong Kong cafe eats and beer. Tony Chen tells us it might not be here for long. [Eater]
Orange: Johnny Rebs is planning a festival to rally local jam purveyors called “Jam Session” on June 11th. Best of all? It’s freeeee! [Zagat Buzz]
Santa Monica: FIG chef Ray Garcia rocks our world! Watch him make queso fundido from his Sunday taco bar. [Feast]
-Tacos Por Favor will expand to a second location at Olympic and Bundy. If you’re in need of birria and cinnamon-kissed chile rellenos on the Westside, you could do a lot worse. [Eater]
Torrance: Stacked: Food Well Built, a competitively priced gastro-pub, opens in one week, with all those high-tech iPad ordering devices we noted in February. [Squid Ink]
West Hollywood: Copa D’Oro’s Vincenzo Marianella is instituting a cocktail program at nearby Buddha’s Belly and at a forthcoming Valley locale (we assume the one on 3rd Street could be so lucky too). Maybe he’s tired of all the students cramming into Copa? [Eater]
West Hollywood: BreadBar is holding yet another pop-up, starting in June. This one is called “RamenBull” and runs the whole summer. This one is all about beef-filled ramen, with cow tongue ramen and oxtail ramen on offer among the many dishes. [Zagat Buzz]
Westwood: NineThirty at The W will showcase a menu from one of their global properties every second Sunday of the month, starting June 11th. [Feast]
